Our Founder, Jan, is a scientist with a background in bioprocess engineering and short of a decade’s experience in pharmaceutical drug development and clinical research, with specialist expertise in regulatory functions at the interface between governments, ethics committees and the private sector, namely Big Pharma.
Spanning her career, Jan has had first-rate exposure to intellectual property and company law (drafting contracts, researching inventions, preparing design specifications, proofreading and editing legal applications), academia (pharmacology, immunology and biochemical engineering), aquaponics (harnessing aquaculture to drive hydroponic systems), water treatment technology (designing aerobic + anaerobic digestion reactors), as well as teaching English to high net-worth individuals in the tech capital of China, Shenzhen.
Jan channels a growth mindset and is passionately curious about new technologies, particularly in the scientific, engineering, agricultural and medical realms. However, it all comes down to a love of writing, the will to happily immerse oneself in formulating a broad spectrum of technical scripts, and the grand challenge of distilling complexity into fluid, identifiable concepts.
